Dry-ski Slopes in the UK

Posted August 30, 2010

Good preparation is an important part of ski holidays – whether its warming up prior to hitting the slopes or remembering to pack the right clothing and equipment. However, there is no reason why you can’t prepare well in advance to your ski holidays, and get a little practice in at one of the UK’s many dry ski slopes.

The nature of skiing makes it a little daunting, especially for young or inexperienced skiers. Therefore, as well as optimising your fitness levels before your ski holidays, a little time on a dry ski slope could help you get over any psychological obstacles.

Luckily, for anyone coming to our ski chalets from the UK, there are loads of great dry ski slopes throughout the UK, which means that within just a short drive, you should be able to get your ski or snowboard “legs”.

In fact there are so many dry ski slopes throughout the UK, that its worth a quick Google to see which is the nearest in your area.

Whickham Throns outdoor centre in Gateshead Tyne and Wear is perfect for all levels of skier to get in some practice. Bowles Ski Centre in Kent and Aviemore school of snowboarding in Scotland are also great places to pay a visit to before you venture out onto the Swiss Alps.

Of course, whilst the UK is home to some of the finest dry slopes in the world, there isn’t anything quite like the real thing, so why not book one of our amazing ski chalets today!
