Les Coches
Les Coches is a small village in the La Plagne Ski Area, which is made up of 10 separate villages all interconnected by the ski slopes. La Plagne is in turn joined to Les Arcs by the Vanoise Express Cable Car, and the combined area is known as Paradiski. This means that Les Coches has access to a huge area of skiing, one of the largest ski areas in Europe. Les Coches, along with Monchavin (La Plagne Side), Plan Peisey (Les Arcs Side) and Vallandry (Les Arcs Side) are in the perfect location to explore this giant ski area as they are in the centre of the combined Paradiski area. Indeed from Les Coches it takes most of the day to ski to one edge of the area then back again, so you need a central location if you'd like to explore the full area.
Les Coches is a fairly modern ski resort but has the rare charm of having been built inkeeping with it's alpine surroundings. There's no high rise here! It's mostly wood-clad chalets and small chalet style hotels, with a lot of them being located close to the ski lifts and ski slopes. Ski Holidays in Les Coches are a relaxed and quiet affair, great for families and those looking for relaxation in beautiful alpine surroundings.
The choice of accommodation in Les Coches is mostly chalets. There's plenty of catered chalets and self catered chalets in Les Coches. There's also a selection of self-catered apartements in Les Coches which tend to be in low-rise wood clad buildings, no rise blocks of apartments here. There's also great access from Bourg St Mourice for the snow train, and Chambery is a very convenient 1hr 35 mins from Les Coches France.
