Les Gets is a great choice for children. Its relaxed village atmosphere is so popular with many families that they return for holiday after holiday.

Les Gets has acquired the “P'tits Montagnards" label by the Ski France Organisation, which means that extremely high importance is given to the welcome, safety and well-being of children on holiday here.

There is a ski area for children only. The Grand Cry Territory is aimed at 5 to 12 yr olds. It is all themed around Trappers and Indians, with Wigwams, Snakes eggs and many other themed objects. There are two lifts serving runs including bumps and banked coners so the children can learn to ski whilst having fun! This area is easily accessible from the top of the Chavannes bubble lift.

Childcare

We will gladly arrange any childcare for you. Just let us know what you would like and we will do the rest.

Our local Nursery is Les Fripouilles. This caters for children from 6 month to 4 years in the Maison des Gets. It is open everyday except saturday, you can contact them on +33 (0)4 50 79 84 84 / +33 (0)4 50 79 79 79. Click here for more information.

The Ski School (E.S.F.) run childcare facilities for the older ones. They have Le club des p'tits montagnys, an activity club for 4 to 12 yr olds. Here your little ones are looked after when they are not at ski lessons and can also be given lunch (in a nearby restaurant).

Times: 9h30-12h45/14h00-17h00, except 11/02/07 au 09/03/07 where it is 9h00-12h00/14h00-17h00, sunday-friday. They are not open for the first week of season (17th dec 2006)

In-Chalet Childcare

We can arrange qualified nannies to care for your child from the chalet. This service is provided by Cheeky Monkeys Childcare. We have heard great reviews of them from past customers of theirs. Here is an extract of their information:

"We can care for your children in your holiday chalet, therefore avoiding as little disruption to the children and their daily routines as possible. We can also provide a pick up and drop off service for children in ski school which allows yourselves to make the most of your skiing during the day.

All our nanny’s are qualified and experienced, your nanny will come to your chalet on your arrival to meet you and your children, this is an ideal time to discuss your children’s routine and requirements.

We have a large selection of toys which they will bring to the chalet suitable for all ages such as mini gyms, puzzles & books, arts & crafts, train sets, building bricks and lots more. All toys will be left in the chalet for the children to play with throughout the week."

Please note as with all third party suppliers where we make the reservation for you, all contracts made are between yourselves and the suppliers directly and all matters arising should be raised with them directly. Children in the Chalet

We have done our best to provide child friendly chalet holidays. Firstly we are very close to the slopes, the hire shop and the ski school. There is a washing machine and dryer, handy for younger ones. We even bake special cookies for mid-lesson snacks for the little ones.

We are experienced with children, Phil being a former Childcare Manager. After many years working directly with children we are conscious of child safety issues in the chalet. Chalets are not always built with child safety in mind, and though we do take steps to improve child safety, families need to take extra care in a chalet holiday environment.

We can provide stair gates and high chairs in the chalet, and baby seats and booster seats for transfers. Please let us know in advance of your holiday if you require any of these.

Snowkidz

Lots of people ask us about Snowkidz. As far as we are aware they will not be running this winter. If you would like ideas for childcare alternative to snowkidz please feel free to contact us, we'd be glad to help (even if you are staying somewhere else please feel free to ask!)
