A New Type of Ski Company
We are setup rather differently to other chalet companies. Each resort is it's own little company, and then we all work together under one banner.
Each resort having it's own owner means that you speak to someone that lives in the resort you are going too, will plan your holiday from start to finish then will be there in resort with you to make sure everything runs perfectly.
Does it work? Just see the reviews of all our products. The dedication of the company owners there in resort with you makes it such a success.
You'll be booking with the company that runs your resort. We have a website for each resort and service (details below), which you can see for more information.See our Catered Chalets
The back house side of things is run by Phil Teare. Overseeing all the resort and projects, Phil and his team looks after the techinical and marketing side of all the operations.
This gives each company running each resort more time to focus on what matters - our guests.
With Phil and his team looking after all the technical side, marketing and much more, that leaves the companies in resort the time to work with their staff and to properly look after their guests. This is what makes our holidays such a success - having the time to truly look after the needs of every guest. Welcome to how ski holiday should be, by The Chalet Experience.
Founded in 2005 by Phil Teare, The Chalet Experience began as an independent chalet company based in Les Gets, and it retains strong ties to the Portes du Soleil ski area a decade later. Starting with just one chalet in its first season, the company grew rapidly and, just two years later, we were taking over 60 guests per week for a full winter ski season.
In 2010 we stopped offering our own holidays when Phil left the Alps to move back home. By that point we had already start to focus on the technical and marketing demands of the chalet industry and so we shifted to working exclusively with other chalet companies to design, promote and sell their own ski holidays.
Since that time, we have been working closely with independent chalet companies across the Alps to help them grow and reach their potential. Combined with our own experience of the chalet industry itself, our technical knowledge and marketing background have helped several chalet businesses to get established, gain online exposure and secure 90% occupancy, even in their first season.
We love the chalet industry and the people who work in it, and we are always happy to share our experience of the industry with newcomers. How do you choose your first chalet? What should the rent be? How do you reach the guests and secure the bookings? How do you find and train your staff? Find out how we can help get your own chalet company started »
We are regularly back and forth to the Alps, working with our chalet companies and the meeting people who make the industry what it is. If you're based in resort and fancy a coffee and a chat about the ski industry, why not get in touch?Working with Us
From 2010 until August 2014, we also ran a chalet advertising business providing online exposure for over one hundred chalets in France, Austria, Bulgaria and North America. Combined with our experience of the chalet-holiday market, this insider knowledge of advertising and marketing has helped us to secure the highest levels of occapancy for all of our chalet companies, year on year.
One case study was a new company starting for the 2010-2011 ski season. They were keen to focus entirely on running the holidays so, in addition to making an initial investment, we took over the task of finding all their clients for them. We worked together to design their product and pricing strategy. We then took over finding their guests. We designed and fully implemented all their marketing. Their first involvement with the guests was when the phone started to ring and the emails started to land in their inbox.
In this case, we also followed them through their entire first year. Everything from helping select their chalets, bartering with chalet owners, setting up the company structures, how to get the best conversion rate of enquiries into booking, setting up the systems to run the day-to-day business and how to deal with guests once in resort.
In their first winter they had two chalets, and the marketing I provided gave them an average occupancy of 90%. Within three years, they had five chalets, an apartment and a food-delivery business, all running profitably.
The Chalet Experience is still growing and we are constantly refining and getting better at what we do. We are always on the lookout for new people to work with and new investment opportunities in the ski industry. The model we have developed has performed very every time for several ski companies now, as well as a handful of projects outside the ski holiday sector.
Over the next couple of years, we would like to expand into new resorts, both with new-start chalet companies and meal-delivery franchises. The meal deliveries franchise offers a turn-key business which can start making a profit right from the first ski season, and we're really excited about expanding into new resorts and working with new people.Working with The Chalet Experience
We work in a range of ski resorts, and have slightly different offerings in each.
Each resort has an independent owner living in resort and running the services for your ski holiday. That way you can rest assured that you'll receive the very best in care and attention.
We are keen to start working with new people in new resorts. Here are just some of the resorts which we would like to reach in the seasons ahead.
