The Savoie Mont-Blanc Grande Odyssée

A vast outdoor adventure in the Portes du Soleil.

This fabulous dog-sledge race will see the world’s best mushers (dog-sledge drivers) facing each other in the heart of the Portes du Soleil. A long distance race in the style of the legendary Yukon Quest and Iditarod, the Grande Odyssée is physically very challenging and necessitates an optimal level of preparation for both dogs and mushers. It alternates endurance and speed races, with important climbs that can very hard technically if climate conditions prove difficult. The Grande Odyssée is an event that respects nature, totally at one with the environment. An activity that our ancestors started around 5000 years ago, dog-sleighs are probably one of the oldest forms of transport known to man. Don’t miss this unusual event and amazing spectator sport!
