Les Gets Ski Resort, a charming and authentic alpine village.
Part of the vast Portes du Soleil ski area, the largest ski area in Europe, Les Gets is based at 1172m, high up in the French Alps. The traditional dairy farming village is a community that dates back to the 12th century. It is now a pleasing mix of old Savoyard chalets and more modern wooden-and-stone buildings constructed in keeping with their beautiful alpine surroundings, with all the facilities you would expect of a modern ski resort whilst still retaining the charm of an 800 year old alpine community. It has a relaxed atmosphere, warm and friendly, in keeping with it's traditional Savoyard rootes.
There is plenty going on in this little ski resort. The winter is packed with a host of events each week from "fire week" to dog sledding races, so there is lots to keep you entertained off the slopes. Check out our events page for full details.
There are over 100 shops, bars and restaurants. We have a cinema showing films in English twice a week, an ice rink including the weekly children's ice disco and ten pin bowling alley.
Les Gets' nightlife has a warm and friendly atmosphere. There are many good bars worth checking out, hosting live music and DJ's. Look out for The Irish Bar and Bar Boomerang for a party. Most bars are open until 2am, and for those with energy still to burn there is the Igloo nightclub, which is open until 5am! All the bars are within walking distance of the Chalets.
